By foot 🚶
Walking is a great way to see the city and soak in all the sights. But watch out for the bike lane! The entire city is safe and walkable any time day or night, including public transport.Â
By bike 🚲
Biking is how most Copenhageners get around. It's safe to bike and most roads have separate bike lanes. If you want to get on a bike with the Danes, please:Â
1) checkout How to cycle in Denmark
2) be careful (bring your helmet if you're a wobbly cyclist)
Want to rent a bike on the go? Our top recommendation is Donkey Bikes. These bikes are available on the go or to try out for a single ride. You can pick-up and drop-off bikes anywhere in the city. You pay for your ride by the minute and can rent more than one bike at a time. You just pick your bike on the app, unlock the bike through the app, and when you've arrived use the app to lock the bike.Â
Download the Donkey Bike App here.Â
Staying at the Kong Arthur Hotel? You can rent a bike for the day from the hotel.Â
Are you a pro-biker and need your own ride? Some bike shops around town will rent a bike to you for the week. You might have to pop into a few 'cykel' shops to find one that provides the service.Â
By public transport 🚂
Transport includes trains, metro, and buses. To find your route, Google Maps or Citymapper work great.Â
The easiest way to buy a ticket is to use the app 'Rejsekort'. When you get on any form of transport, you 'swipe' in the app to activate your journey. Then, the app tracks your journey, even you make a change to train, bus, or metro! All you need to do when you are done your journey is 'swipe' to check out, and it will charge your card. Travelling as a family? You are able to check-in multiple people using the same app. Kids under 12 travel for free.
Download the Rejsekort travel app here
(there are ticket machines, but we promise the app will be easier if have roaming data)
By car 🚕
The city has both taxis and Uber! While this might be a great way to getting to and from the wedding itself, it may be expensive to do for your entire stay. You likely all have the Uber app. For a Danish taxi service, we use TAXA 4x35.
